Spine Race print in a black frame above a wooden bench: the Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm, with the height profile and finish time

A gift for someone who’s finished the Spine Race

Someone you know has finished the Spine Race. That’s the whole Pennine Way, 268 miles from Edale to Kirk Yetholm, non-stop, in the middle of a British winter. Long nights, bog, snow and wind, with their own kit on their back and sleep taken in short snatches at checkpoints along the way.

Just reaching the start line takes a lot. Reaching Kirk Yetholm is something else, and the people around them, the crew and the family glued to the tracker at three in the morning, will remember it too.

So what do you give someone at the end of that?

What makes a good Spine Race gift

They’ll have more kit than anyone needs, and strong views on all of it. What they won’t have is something that holds the race itself: the line up the spine of England, the days it took, and the finish. A good gift keeps hold of those.

A print of the race they ran

Our Spine Race print shows the 2026 course over an Ordnance Survey map, with the climbs drawn underneath and their finish time as the headline. The course is already drawn, so you don’t need their GPX file to order it. If they recorded the race, upload the GPX from their watch instead and the print shows the line they actually covered, detours and all.

You add:

  • their name
  • the date they finished
  • their finish time, however many days it runs to: you type it in yourself
  • one photo from the race, or three

You see the finished print before you pay, so you can check the time and every detail first.

If they ran one of the other Spine races

The Spine is a family of races, and we print each of the others too, with its own course already drawn:

If they ran it in an earlier year

Our line is the 2026 course. For an earlier Spine, add the date of the race they ran, and if they recorded it, upload the GPX from that year so the print follows the line they took.

If it didn’t go to plan

Plenty of people don’t reach Kirk Yetholm, and a Spine that stopped at Hawes or Bellingham can still be the hardest thing they’ve ever done. The finish time is optional, so you can make a print of the miles they covered from their own GPX, with the date and no time at all.

If you were the crew

Spine finishes are rarely solo efforts behind the scenes. A print with the date and their time makes a good thank-you to whoever drove the van, cooked at checkpoints or stayed up watching the dot.

If you don’t know the details

Don’t know their exact time, or want them to choose the style? Give them a gift card instead. You choose the amount and the day it arrives by email, and they make the print themselves.

Questions people ask

Do I need their GPX file to buy a Spine Race print?

No. The 2026 course is already drawn. With their GPX, the print shows the exact line they covered instead.

Their finish time runs to days. Will it fit?

Yes. You type the time in yourself, so it can be as long as it was.

Can I print the Challenger rather than the full race?

Yes. The Challenger South and North, both Sprints and both MRT Challenges each have their own print, with the course already drawn.

Is this an official Spine Race product?

No. Our prints aren’t connected with or endorsed by the event’s organisers.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not at the moment. We deliver to UK addresses only, and delivery is free and tracked.
