A gift for someone who’s run the London Marathon
Someone you know has run the London Marathon. That’s 26.2 miles from Blackheath and Greenwich, over Tower Bridge, round Canary Wharf and back along the Embankment to the finish on The Mall, with the crowds loud the whole way.
For a lot of people it’s the race. The one they entered the ballot for year after year, trained for through a cold, dark winter, or ran for a charity that means something to them. They’ll remember the finish for a long time.
So what do you give someone at the end of that?
What makes a good London Marathon gift
They’ll probably come home with a medal, a T-shirt and very sore legs. What tends to get lost is the race itself: the route they ran, the date and the time on the clock. A good gift keeps hold of those, with their name on it.
A print of the race they ran
Our London Marathon print shows the course from Greenwich to The Mall over an Ordnance Survey map, with the climbs drawn underneath and their finish time as the headline. The route is already drawn, so you don’t need their GPX file to order it. If they recorded the race on their watch or running app, you can upload the GPX instead, and the print follows the exact line they ran.

You add:
- their name
- the date of the race
- their finish time
- one photo from the day, or three
You see the finished print before you pay, so you can check the time and every detail first.

If you want their own line
Most runners record the race on a watch or phone, and the file sits in Strava, Garmin Connect or a similar app. Exporting it takes a minute. Our GPX help page shows how, app by app, if you can borrow their phone or ask a friend who runs with them. If that would spoil the surprise, our route line works just as well.
If their watch went haywire round Canary Wharf, as watches often do among the tall buildings, that’s fine. You can correct the distance if it reads wrong, and you’ll see the preview before you order.
If they ran it years ago
A London Marathon from ten years ago is still worth putting on the wall. Add the date of the race they ran. Our route line is the 2026 course, and the route has changed a little over the years, so if they recorded it, upload the GPX from that year to show the line they actually ran.
If they ran it for charity
Plenty of runners get their place through a charity, and raise a lot of money to keep it. A print with the date and their time marks the effort behind that, long after the fundraising page has closed.
If you don’t know the details
Don’t know their finish time, or want them to choose the style? Give them a gift card instead. You choose the amount and the day it arrives by email, and they make the print themselves.
