National Three Peaks print in a black frame above a wooden bench: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa marked on a map of Scotland, England and Wales

A gift for someone who’s done the National Three Peaks

Someone you know has done the National Three Peaks. That’s the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa, usually inside 24 hours, with hours of driving between them and at least one of the climbs in the dark.

For a lot of people it’s a charity challenge, a work team, or a group of friends who said yes to it months ago. Either way, it’s a long, tired day they’ll talk about for years.

So what do you give someone at the end of that?

What makes a good Three Peaks gift

A medal or a certificate says they did it. What tends to get lost is the day itself: the three mountains, the times on each summit, the clock at the finish and the people in the minibus. A good gift keeps hold of those.

A print of all three peaks

Our National Three Peaks print puts all three walks on one Ordnance Survey map of Great Britain, with each summit marked and their overall time as the headline. We’ve drawn the usual routes, so you don’t need their GPX file to order it:

  • Ben Nevis (1,345 m) by the Mountain Track from Glen Nevis
  • Scafell Pike (978 m) from Wasdale Head
  • Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m) from Pen-y-Pass

Each walk is drawn up and down, 38.7 km and 3,623 m of ascent in all. The drives aren’t drawn.

If they recorded the walks, you can upload their own files instead, up to three, one for each mountain. We join them in order and the print follows the lines they actually took.

You add:

  • their name
  • the date
  • their overall time, from the first start to the last finish
  • a time for each summit, if you have them
  • one photo from the challenge, or three

You see the finished print before you pay, so you can check the times and every detail first.

If they didn’t make it inside 24 hours

Plenty of teams don’t, because of traffic, weather or a slow descent in the dark. Three summits in a day and a night is still a huge effort. The time is yours to type, so put the real one on, or leave it off and keep the print about the day.

If it was a team

Three Peaks teams often travel together, so one print each makes a good thank-you, with the same route and time and each person’s own name. Don’t forget the drivers: they did the challenge too, just sitting down.

If they did a different set of peaks

We print the other Three Peaks challenges too:

And if Yr Wyddfa was the one that stayed with them, we print Yr Wyddfa on its own, by whichever path they took.

If you don’t know the details

Don’t know their times, or want them to choose the style? Give them a gift card instead. You choose the amount and the day it arrives by email, and they make the print themselves.

Questions people ask

Do I need their GPX files to buy a National Three Peaks print?

No. We’ve drawn the usual route up each mountain. With their own files, the print shows the exact lines they walked instead.

They have three separate GPX files. Is that all right?

Yes. Upload up to three, one for each walk. We join them in time order without drawing the drives.

Can I add a time for each summit?

Yes. Add a time for each summit alongside the overall time, or leave them off.

Does the time include the driving?

Their overall time runs from the first start to the last finish, so it includes the drives, the same way the challenge is usually timed.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not at the moment. We deliver to UK addresses only, and delivery is free and tracked.
