About the Coast to Coast
Alfred Wainwright’s walk across northern England starts with your boots in the Irish Sea at St Bees and finishes at Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea. On the way it crosses three national parks: the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.
The Lakeland fells come early and hard, then the walk settles into Swaledale, the Vale of Mowbray and the moors before dropping to the sea. Plenty of people carry a pebble from one coast to the other.
The print shows the route from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay on an Ordnance Survey map, with your name, the date and your time if you want it. You can also upload your own GPX if you took a different line.

Questions, answered
We took a few detours. Can the print show our actual route?
Yes. Upload your GPX on this page and we’ll draw your own line instead of ours.
Can I add a photo from the walk?
Yes. Add one photo for £5 or three for £10.
What can I change?
Add your name, the date and your time, and a line of your own if you like. The route, its name and its distance and ascent are filled in, and you can change the figures. Then choose a style, a size and a frame: the preview shows each change.
Can I use my own GPX instead?
Yes. If you went a different way or want your own recording on the print, start from the version where you upload your GPX.
Do I get a digital copy?
Yes. Every print comes with a high-resolution file of your design, free, for sharing or printing again. We email you a download link with your order confirmation, and it works for at least 90 days.
Only want the file? Choose Digital download for £12 and print it wherever you like.
